Jewelry repair is not always simple replacement work. Sometimes it requires creative problem-solving, careful rebuilding, and a deep understanding of how jewelry wears over time. Our bench is located within our store, allowing pieces to be evaluated directly by the craftsman handling the work.

Everyday Repairs

Ring sizing, chain repair, clasp replacement, stone tightening, shortening, soldering, and practical repairs that help return jewelry to wearable condition.

Structural Restoration

Worn shanks, thinning ring sides, damaged prongs, and heavily worn pieces may require more extensive rebuilding to restore strength and integrity.

Heirloom Preservation

Sentimental jewelry is handled with care and respect. If the piece matters to you, it matters to us.

Repair, restoration, and creative bench solutions.

Our repair work ranges from simple fixes to custom solutions created specifically for the piece in front of us. We have rebuilt worn rings from the ground up, created custom links for bracelet extensions, and restored jewelry so it can continue to be worn, loved, and passed forward.

Our Process

Clear evaluation before work begins.

Repairs begin with an in-store evaluation. Our bench jeweler inspects each piece before quoting whenever possible, so we can recommend the right approach for the jewelry, the condition, and the client’s goals.

01

Walk-In Evaluation

Clients are welcome to bring jewelry in for evaluation. We review the visible condition, discuss concerns, and determine whether the piece needs repair, restoration, maintenance, or further inspection.

02

Bench Inspection

Because our bench is in-store, pieces can be inspected directly by the craftsman performing the work. This allows us to identify wear, weak points, and the most appropriate repair path.

03

Quote and Approval

We stand by our quotes and do not make changes or add work without consulting the client first. If additional concerns are discovered, we discuss them before proceeding.

04

Repair and Final Review

Once approved, the repair is completed with care and reviewed before return. Our goal is not only to make jewelry wearable again, but to help preserve its strength, appearance, and longevity.

Turnaround time: Repair timing varies based on current workload, complexity, and the type of repair needed. Some repairs may be completed quickly, while more involved work may take longer. Rush service may be available for an additional fee when scheduling allows.

Repair vs. Restoration

Some pieces need a fix. Others need rebuilding.

A repair may solve a specific issue, such as sizing a ring, shortening a chain, or replacing a broken clasp. Restoration is often more structural — rebuilding worn areas, restoring the original look, or strengthening a piece that has been worn for many years.

Repair

Repair work addresses a specific problem: a broken chain, loose stone, worn clasp, sizing adjustment, missing jump ring, or other practical issue.

Restoration

Restoration focuses on rebuilding integrity. This may include replacing a thinned shank, rebuilding worn prongs, restoring worn sides of a ring, or returning a piece to its original strength and appearance.

Preservation

Not every piece needs to look brand new. Some jewelry carries history, patina, and sentiment. We help clients choose the approach that makes sense for the piece.

We do not believe in unsafe shortcuts.

Sometimes the most helpful repair advice is honest education. If a piece is worn in a way that will continue to fail — such as a chain with weakened links throughout — we explain the concern clearly rather than offering a temporary fix that may only lead to repeated breakage.

Materials and Specialty Work

Most repairs are completed in-house.

We work primarily in gold, platinum, and sterling silver. Costume jewelry and alternative metals are evaluated case by case, depending on what the piece requires and whether the repair can be performed safely.

Most repair and restoration work is completed in-house. On occasion, specialty work such as hand engraving or invisible setting repair may require trusted outside assistance. If outsourcing is recommended, we discuss that with the client before proceeding.
